Gorey Educate Together National School

A sports league has been set up in the school from 9th June to 16th June. All children in the school have been divided into 6 teams - all named after villages near Gorey: Courtown, Clogh, Oulart, Kilanerin, Ballycanew and Craanford.

All children are encouraged to take part and the winners will be announced (weather permitting) on Sports Day!

Science Day this year was a brilliant success.  Grace’s 4th and 5th class manned 15 experiments while the rest of the school visited the room to discover loads about science.  There were prizes on offer for pupils that used their scientific skills so well done to Aaron from Fiona’s class and Eimhín from Grace’s class for winning the two prizes on offer.  Below are a selection of photographs from the day.

As part of a gardening competition, some of the pupils in 2nd and 3rd class visited the new 4Home store in Gorey.  The children were photographed by the local newspaper as they chatted to the manager of the shop.

The school will be making a new garden in the next term and the children will be choosing the seeds, bulbs and ornaments that will go in it.  We’ll post up photographs as soon as the garden starts to sprout!
