We had a great day in 2nd Class presenting projects. Two weeks of research & structuring their work to the end products. Topics were varied including Animatronics, Knitting, Musical instruments, Volcanos, World Wars, Donald Trump, Geology, Animals & many more wonderful ideas. The pupils made their presentations in booklets, posters, timelines, PowerPoint and also usedsome models, samples and quizzes. Well done everyone, a great learning experience for us all & such enthusiasm for the task!
Hour of Code took place worldwide from December 5-11th. Our class took part and really enjoyed it. We really enjoyed Minecraft, Flappy Bird and Moana coding. If you would like to try out some coding go to www.hourofcode.org/learn. On the map below you can see all the schools in Ireland who participated in the hour of code, GETNS are on the map!
Third Class have been learning about lots of different artists over the last few weeks. During our latest art project we learnt about Jackson Pollock. Inspired by Jackson Pollock’s artwork pupils created art pieces on canvas. Pupils used lots of different tools to drip paint onto the canvas like Jackson Pollack did.
A special thank you to Sarah Rubin for all her work with our class.
This week Third Class have been taking on the task to create a maths board game for Maths Week! We have been working on them for the past week and we presented them today! We have seen many good maths games already, and there are still more to come! We have had a 60 second challenge by Evan, a truth or dare game by Torin, a card game by Maya Rubin and a Monkey Goes Bananas! by Natanya. We have enjoyed playing the games and some of them are quite imaginative.
