Friday 12th February: The children on our School Council are organising a school-warming ‘Mad Hair Disco,’ 6.30pm-8.30pm, in the PE hall. Details to follow.

Swine Flu Vaccine for all school-aged children Interested parents should follow the instructions on the attached leaflet. Do not return completed forms to the school- contact the HSE directly.
Footwear: It’s important that the children wear suitable footwear to school. Sturdy shoes or runners work best. Wearing unsuitable boots, sandals, heels, etc. means the child can’t fully participate in PE lessons or playground games.
1.30-2.30 Supervision/Activity Session for Infants: this activity will continue to be offered until the end of June. Parents: payments must be kept up-to-date. Thanks.
Trees: Our application to Wexford County Council for some ‘free trees’ was successful! Many thanks to the parent who collected our 12 good-sized trees from the council depot. We hope to get planting on Friday morning. If you can help, please leave your name with Bernie in the office.
PTA Sponsored Walk update: A total of €4,088.50 was collected following last term’s sponsored walk! Many thanks for the tremendous support. One parent alone collected €585 from her co-workers at BarclayCard in Dublin. And under that company’s ‘Matched Fundraising’ scheme, the school will soon receive an additional €585 from Barclay’s!
All the money raised is being used to equip the PE hall – a new stereo system was bought for use with performances & dancing; the floor will soon be lined for basketball, football and other games; basketball and football nets will be added, as well as lots of other sports equipment.

Art Project: Help wanted 9am, Thursday, 11th February. Meet upstairs in the library – we want to revamp our Tree of Poems, (our ‘Poet-Tree.’)
St Patrick’s Day parade: This year’s theme is ‘30th Anniversary of the Parade in Gorey.’ We’re looking for ideas (last year we did ‘Flags of the World.’) We’re also looking for parent volunteers to help with the art & crafts. Please add your ideas and names to the list on the noticeboard or send a note to the school office. We will start work on this project soon after the mid-term break
Boys and girls, your schoolmates in 4th, 5th and 6th class ask you to bring a few Euros to school this Friday.
Buy a slice of cake or a cookie, (€0.50-€3.) Have your photo taken with our parrot or hen, (€2-€3.) Join a special Wii game, (€1.) Also, crafts for sale.
Any money raised will be used to help the people of Haiti.
