Annual PTA Walk in Courtown Woods.
Diversity Week: For ‘Diversity Week 2014’ the school’s focus is on Communication. Our aim: to improve understanding of one aspect of diversity, while learning how to show respect, empathy and friendship. Activities for the children include: work on ‘the languages of our school community,’ the Helen Keller & Anne Sullivan story, familiarisation with the Lámh sign system, visits to some classrooms by a Speech & Language therapist (short presentation, Q & A), and our customary ‘Diversity Week School Rally.’
Friday, 4th April: Bake Sale by the children on our School Council. The children have chosen to donate the proceeds to the Irish Cancer Society.
Every class visited the Sale. They bought cakes & drinks and played games (‘guess how many cubes in the jar’, ‘name the teddy,’ etc.) Some children also had their faces painted!
€747 was raised for the Irish Cancer Society. Well done everybody!
Many thanks to parents and staff for all their support, (and the many, many donations of cakes!)
